Regulatory Disclosure

This page describes the nature of the work we do and, just as importantly, its limits. It is published so that anyone reading this site understands what our support amounts to and what it does not.

Pinewood Finance Consultancy
01

The nature of our work

We provide administrative and bookkeeping support: keeping financial records in order, processing payroll, raising and tracking invoices, managing expenses, assisting with company set-up, and organising financial data so that it can be used and understood.

That work is practical and organisational. It exists to support the day-to-day running of a business, not to advise on its financial strategy.

02

What this is not

Nothing we provide should be taken as:

  • regulated financial advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any investment or financial product;
  • tax advice or tax planning, as distinct from the accurate recording of transactions;
  • legal advice, or a view on the legal effect of any document or arrangement;
  • an audit, review, or any other form of assurance opinion on financial statements;
  • insolvency, restructuring or lending advice.

Where a matter needs one of those, the right course is to instruct someone qualified and, where applicable, authorised to give it. We will say so rather than work around it.

03

Responsibility for filings and decisions

Statutory obligations — filing accounts and returns, making payments on time, keeping proper records — rest with the business and the people who run it. Our support is designed to make meeting them easier and better documented. It does not move them to us, and anything we prepare should be reviewed by the client before it is filed, paid or relied upon.

04

Client money

We do not hold or handle client money and do not operate accounts on a client’s behalf. Payments stay under the control of the business, made from its own accounts and authorised by it.

05

Information on this website

The content of this site is general information about the services available. It is not advice for any particular situation and should not be relied upon as though it were. The scope, terms and responsibilities attaching to an actual piece of work are set out in the engagement documentation agreed with the client.

06

Authorisations and professional status

No licence, registration or authorisation numbers are published on this website. Where a particular authorisation, registration or professional membership is relevant to a service, the position is confirmed directly to the client in the engagement documentation before work begins.

07

Concerns and complaints

If something we have done falls short, raising it with us directly is the quickest route to putting it right. Concerns are looked into and answered, and where a matter cannot be resolved between us we will set out in writing what other options are open to you.
